In this tutorial we learn how to install kirigami-gallery on Ubuntu 18.04.

kirigami-gallery is:

Kirigami is a set of QtQuick components at the moment targeted for mobile use (in the future desktop as well) targeting both Plasma Mobile and Android. A set of high level components to make the creation of applications that look and feel great on mobile as well as desktop devices and follow the Kirigami Human Interface Guidelines. The target of these components is anybody that wants to do an application using QtQuick as its main UI, especially if targeting a mobile platform, without adding many dependencies. They work on a variety of platforms, such as Plasma Mobile, Desktop Linux, Android and Windows.

This package contains the example application Kirigami Gallery.

There are three methods to install kirigami-gallery on Ubuntu 18.04. We can use apt-get, apt and aptitude. In the following sections we will describe each method. You can choose one of them.

Update apt database with apt-get using the following command.

sudo apt-get update

After updating apt database, We can install kirigami-gallery using apt-get by running the following command:

sudo apt-get -y install kirigami-gallery

Update apt database with apt using the following command.

sudo apt update

After updating apt database, We can install kirigami-gallery using apt by running the following command:

sudo apt -y install kirigami-gallery

If you want to follow this method, you might need to install aptitude first since aptitude is usually not installed by default on Ubuntu. Update apt database with aptitude using the following command.

sudo aptitude update

After updating apt database, We can install kirigami-gallery using aptitude by running the following command:

sudo aptitude -y install kirigami-gallery

To uninstall only the kirigami-gallery package we can use the following command:

sudo apt-get remove kirigami-gallery

To uninstall kirigami-gallery and its dependencies that are no longer needed by Ubuntu 18.04, we can use the command below:

sudo apt-get -y autoremove kirigami-gallery

To remove kirigami-gallery configuration and data from Ubuntu 18.04 we can use the following command:

sudo apt-get -y purge kirigami-gallery

We can use the following command to remove kirigami-gallery configurations, data and all of its dependencies, we can use the following command:

sudo apt-get -y autoremove --purge kirigami-gallery
