How To Install kio-extras on Kali Linux

What is kio-extras
kio-extras is:
A kioslave is a plugin designed to be intimately familiar with a certain protocol, so that a standardized interface can be used to get at data from any number of places. A few examples are the http and ftp kioslaves, which using nearly identical methods will retrieve data from an http or ftp server respectively.
This package is part of the KDE base workspace module.
There are three methods to install kio-extras
on Kali Linux. We can use apt-get
, apt
and aptitude
. In the following sections we will describe each method. You can choose one of them.
Install kio-extras Using apt-get
Update apt database with apt-get
using the following command.
sudo apt-get update
After updating apt database, We can install kio-extras
using apt-get
by running the following command:
sudo apt-get -y install kio-extras

After updating apt database, We can install kio-extras

by running the following command:
sudo apt -y install kio-extras
Install kio-extras Using aptitude
If you want to follow this method, you might need to install aptitude on Kali Linux first since aptitude is usually not installed by default on Kali Linux. Update apt database with aptitude
using the following command.
sudo aptitude update
After updating apt database, We can install kio-extras
using aptitude
by running the following command:
sudo aptitude -y install kio-extras
How To Uninstall kio-extras on Kali Linux
To uninstall only the kio-extras
package we can use the following command:
sudo apt-get remove kio-extras
Uninstall kio-extras And Its Dependencies
To uninstall kio-extras
and its dependencies that are no longer needed by Kali Linux, we can use the command below:
sudo apt-get -y autoremove kio-extras
Remove kio-extras Configurations and Data
To remove kio-extras
configuration and data from Kali Linux we can use the following command:
sudo apt-get -y purge kio-extras
