How To Install killer on Kali Linux
Introduction
In this tutorial we learn how to install killer on Kali Linux.
What is killer
killer is:
killer is a perl script that gets rid of background jobs. Background jobs are defined as processes that belong to users who are not currently logged into the machine. Jobs can be run in the background (and are exempt from killer’s actions) if their scheduling priority has been reduced by increasing their nice(1) value or if they are being run through condor.
When the package is installed, a cron job is installed to run killer once an hour.
There are three methods to install killer on Kali Linux. We can use apt-get, apt and aptitude. In the following sections we will describe each method. You can choose one of them.
Install killer Using apt-get
Update apt database with apt-get using the following command.
sudo apt-get updateAfter updating apt database, We can install killer using apt-get by running the following command:
sudo apt-get -y install killerInstall killer Using apt

To uninstall only the killer package we can use the following command:

To uninstall killer and its dependencies that are no longer needed by Kali Linux, we can use the command below:

To remove killer configuration and data from Kali Linux we can use the following command:
sudo apt-get -y purge killerRemove killer configuration, data, and all of its dependencies
