How To Install kcemu on Kali Linux
Introduction
In this tutorial we learn how to install kcemu
on Kali Linux.
What is kcemu
kcemu is:
KCemu is an emulator for the KC85 homecomputer series and other Z80 based microcomputers like Z1013, LC80, Polycomputer 880 and BIC A5105. The emulation supports a number of additional hardware, e.g. floppy disk drives and extended graphic modules.
The Debian package does not contain the ROM images required to run the emulated machines. Please refer to the README.Debian file for more information.

There are three methods to install kcemu
on Kali Linux. We can use apt-get
, apt
and aptitude
. In the following sections we will describe each method. You can choose one of them.
Install kcemu Using apt-get
Update apt database with apt-get
using the following command.
sudo apt-get update
After updating apt database, We can install kcemu
using apt-get
by running the following command:
sudo apt-get -y install kcemu

Install kcemu Using aptitude
If you want to follow this method, you might need to install aptitude on Kali Linux first since aptitude is usually not installed by default on Kali Linux. Update apt database with aptitude
using the following command.
sudo aptitude update
After updating apt database, We can install kcemu
using aptitude
by running the following command:
sudo aptitude -y install kcemu
How To Uninstall kcemu on Kali Linux
To uninstall only the kcemu
package we can use the following command:
sudo apt-get remove kcemu
Uninstall kcemu And Its Dependencies
To uninstall kcemu
and its dependencies that are no longer needed by Kali Linux, we can use the command below:
sudo apt-get -y autoremove kcemu
Remove kcemu Configurations and Data
To remove kcemu
configuration and data from Kali Linux we can use the following command:
sudo apt-get -y purge kcemu
