on Debian 11.
What is kcachegrind
kcachegrind is:
KCachegrind is a visualisation tool for the profiling data generated by calltree, a memory profiling tool for valgrind. Any executable can be profiled using calltree without being recompiled, including multi-threaded applications, shared libraries, and plugins.
For visualising the output from profiling tools other than Valgrind, several converters can be found in the kcachegrind-converters package.
This package is part of the KDE Software Development Kit module.
There are three methods to install kcachegrind
on Debian 11. We can use apt-get
, apt
and aptitude
. In the following sections we will describe each method. You can choose one of them.
Install kcachegrind Using apt-get
Update apt database with apt-get
using the following command.
sudo apt-get update
After updating apt database, We can install kcachegrind
using apt-get
by running the following command:
sudo apt-get -y install kcachegrind

After updating apt database, We can install kcachegrind

If you want to follow this method, you might need to install aptitude first since aptitude is usually not installed by default on Debian. Update apt database with aptitude
using the following command.
sudo aptitude update
After updating apt database, We can install kcachegrind
using aptitude
by running the following command:
sudo aptitude -y install kcachegrind
How To Uninstall kcachegrind on Debian 11
To uninstall only the kcachegrind
package we can use the following command:
sudo apt-get remove kcachegrind
Uninstall kcachegrind And Its Dependencies
To uninstall kcachegrind
and its dependencies that are no longer needed by Debian 11, we can use the command below:
sudo apt-get -y autoremove kcachegrind
Remove kcachegrind Configurations and Data
To remove kcachegrind
configuration and data from Debian 11 we can use the following command:
sudo apt-get -y purge kcachegrind
