How To Install kalarm on Kali Linux
Introduction
In this tutorial we learn how to install kalarm on Kali Linux.
What is kalarm
kalarm is:
KAlarm provides a graphical interface to schedule personal timed events - pop-up alarm messages, command execution and sending emails. There is a range of options for configuring recurring events.
A pop-up alarm can show either a simple text message, or the contents of a text or image file. It can optionally be spoken, or play a sound file. You can choose its appearance, and set reminders. Among KAlarm’s other facilities, you can set up templates to allow KAlarm to be used as a ’tea timer'.
There are three methods to install kalarm on Kali Linux. We can use apt-get, apt and aptitude. In the following sections we will describe each method. You can choose one of them.
Install kalarm Using apt-get
Update apt database with apt-get using the following command.
sudo apt-get updateAfter updating apt database, We can install kalarm using apt-get by running the following command:
sudo apt-get -y install kalarmInstall kalarm Using apt
Update apt database with apt using the following command.
sudo apt updateAfter updating apt database, We can install kalarm using apt by running the following command:
sudo apt -y install kalarmInstall kalarm Using aptitude
If you want to follow this method, you might need to install aptitude on Kali Linux first since aptitude is usually not installed by default on Kali Linux. Update apt database with aptitude using the following command.
sudo aptitude updateAfter updating apt database, We can install kalarm using aptitude by running the following command:
sudo aptitude -y install kalarmHow To Uninstall kalarm on Kali Linux
To uninstall only the kalarm package we can use the following command:
sudo apt-get remove kalarmUninstall kalarm And Its Dependencies
To uninstall kalarm and its dependencies that are no longer needed by Kali Linux, we can use the command below:
sudo apt-get -y autoremove kalarmRemove kalarm Configurations and Data
To remove kalarm configuration and data from Kali Linux we can use the following command:
sudo apt-get -y purge kalarmRemove kalarm configuration, data, and all of its dependencies
We can use the following command to remove kalarm configurations, data and all of its dependencies, we can use the following command:
sudo apt-get -y autoremove --purge kalarmDependencies
