What is kabi-yum-plugins
The kABI yum plugins package contains a yum plugin that can be used in order to enforce that only those third party kernel module packages meeting CentOS kernel ABI requirements are installed. The plugin requires that those drivers be packaged in accordance with CentOS Driver Update Program guidelines.
We can use yum or dnf to install kabi-yum-plugins on CentOS 7. In this tutorial we discuss both methods but you only need to choose one of method to install kabi-yum-plugins.
Install kabi-yum-plugins on CentOS 7 Using yum
Update yum database with yum using the following command.
sudo yum makecache
After updating yum database, We can install kabi-yum-plugins using yum by running the following command:
sudo yum -y install kabi-yum-plugins
Install kabi-yum-plugins on CentOS 7 Using dnf
If you don’t have dnf installed you can install DNF on CentOS 7 first.
Update yum database with dnf using the following command.
sudo dnf makecache
After updating yum database, We can install kabi-yum-plugins using dnf by running the following command:
sudo dnf -y install kabi-yum-plugins
How To Uninstall kabi-yum-plugins on CentOS 7
To uninstall only the kabi-yum-plugins package we can use the following command:
sudo dnf remove kabi-yum-plugins
