How To Install jvim-canna on Debian 9

In this tutorial we learn how to install jvim-canna on Debian 9.
What is jvim-canna
jvim-canna is:
JVIM 3.0 is Japanized VIM (VI clone editor) by K.Tsuchida [email protected] on Dec 24, 2002 (patch version 2.1b). This editor can utilize the canna-server in “canna” package directly without other extra libraries (i.e. libonew) in order to enter “Kanji” from kon (Kanji Linux cONsole) in kon2 package.
There are three methods to install jvim-canna on Debian 9. We can use apt-get, apt and aptitude. In the following sections we will describe each method. You can choose one of them.
Install jvim-canna Using apt-get
Update apt database with apt-get using the following command.
sudo apt-get update
After updating apt database, We can install jvim-canna using apt-get by running the following command:
sudo apt-get -y install jvim-canna
Install jvim-canna Using apt
Update apt database with apt using the following command.
sudo apt update
After updating apt database, We can install jvim-canna using apt by running the following command:
sudo apt -y install jvim-canna
Install jvim-canna Using aptitude
If you want to follow this method, you might need to install aptitude first since aptitude is usually not installed by default on Debian. Update apt database with aptitude using the following command.
sudo aptitude update
After updating apt database, We can install jvim-canna using aptitude by running the following command:
sudo aptitude -y install jvim-canna
How To Uninstall jvim-canna on Debian 9
To uninstall only the jvim-canna package we can use the following command:
sudo apt-get remove jvim-canna
Uninstall jvim-canna And Its Dependencies
To uninstall jvim-canna and its dependencies that are no longer needed by Debian 9, we can use the command below:
sudo apt-get -y autoremove jvim-canna
Remove jvim-canna Configurations and Data
To remove jvim-canna configuration and data from Debian 9 we can use the following command:
sudo apt-get -y purge jvim-canna
Remove jvim-canna configuration, data, and all of its dependencies
We can use the following command to remove jvim-canna configurations, data and all of its dependencies, we can use the following command:
