In this tutorial we learn how to install js-respond on CentOS 7.

What is js-respond

The goal of this script is to provide a fast and lightweight (3kb minified / 1kb gzipped) script to enable responsive web designs in browsers that don’t support CSS3 Media Queries - in particular, Internet Explorer 8 and under. It’s written in such a way that it will probably patch support for other non-supporting browsers as well.

We can use yum or dnf to install js-respond on CentOS 7. In this tutorial we discuss both methods but you only need to choose one of method to install js-respond.

Install js-respond on CentOS 7 Using yum

Update yum database with yum using the following command.

sudo yum makecache

After updating yum database, We can install js-respond using yum by running the following command:

sudo yum -y install js-respond

Install js-respond on CentOS 7 Using dnf

If you don’t have dnf installed you can install DNF on CentOS 7 first. Update yum database with dnf using the following command.

sudo dnf makecache

After updating yum database, We can install js-respond using dnf by running the following command:

sudo dnf -y install js-respond

How To Uninstall js-respond on CentOS 7

To uninstall only the js-respond package we can use the following command:

sudo dnf remove js-respond
