How To Install josm on Kali Linux

In this tutorial we learn how to install josm on Kali Linux.
What is josm
josm is:
JOSM is an editor for OpenStreetMap (OSM) written in Java. The current version supports stand alone GPX tracks, GPX track data from OSM database and existing nodes, line segments and metadata tags from the OSM database.
OpenStreetMap is a project aimed squarely at creating and providing free geographic data such as street maps to anyone who wants them. The project was started because most maps you think of as free actually have legal or technical restrictions on their use, holding back people from using them in creative, productive or unexpected ways.
There are three methods to install josm on Kali Linux. We can use apt-get, apt and aptitude. In the following sections we will describe each method. You can choose one of them.
Install josm Using apt-get
Update apt database with apt-get using the following command.
sudo apt-get updateAfter updating apt database, We can install josm using apt-get by running the following command:
sudo apt-get -y install josmInstall josm Using apt
Update apt database with apt using the following command.
sudo apt updateAfter updating apt database, We can install josm using apt by running the following command:

If you want to follow this method, you might need to install aptitude on Kali Linux first since aptitude is usually not installed by default on Kali Linux. Update apt database with aptitude using the following command.

To uninstall only the josm package we can use the following command:
sudo apt-get remove josmUninstall josm And Its Dependencies
To uninstall josm and its dependencies that are no longer needed by Kali Linux, we can use the command below:
sudo apt-get -y autoremove josmRemove josm Configurations and Data
To remove josm configuration and data from Kali Linux we can use the following command:
sudo apt-get -y purge josmRemove josm configuration, data, and all of its dependencies
