How To Install jdim on Kali Linux
Introduction
In this tutorial we learn how to install jdim on Kali Linux.
What is jdim
jdim is:
JDim (JD improved) offers a comfortable browsing experience on 2ch-style bulletin board systems. Its features include:
- automated login,
- message viewing/posting,
- image viewing,
- mouse gestures,
- ignore lists,
- “play-by-play” mode.
It can also significantly reduce the load on servers by bypassing CGI programs and directly retrieving thread data files to your local hard drives.
“2ch-style” web forum sites have their origins in 2channel, which was a very popular Internet forum in Japan. Such sites are often available only in the Japanese language.
There are three methods to install jdim on Kali Linux. We can use apt-get, apt and aptitude. In the following sections we will describe each method. You can choose one of them.
Install jdim Using apt-get
Update apt database with apt-get using the following command.
sudo apt-get updateAfter updating apt database, We can install jdim using apt-get by running the following command:
sudo apt-get -y install jdimInstall jdim Using apt
Update apt database with apt using the following command.
sudo apt updateAfter updating apt database, We can install jdim using apt by running the following command:
sudo apt -y install jdimInstall jdim Using aptitude
If you want to follow this method, you might need to install aptitude on Kali Linux first since aptitude is usually not installed by default on Kali Linux. Update apt database with aptitude using the following command.
sudo aptitude updateAfter updating apt database, We can install jdim using aptitude by running the following command:
sudo aptitude -y install jdimHow To Uninstall jdim on Kali Linux
To uninstall only the jdim package we can use the following command:
sudo apt-get remove jdimUninstall jdim And Its Dependencies
To uninstall jdim and its dependencies that are no longer needed by Kali Linux, we can use the command below:
sudo apt-get -y autoremove jdimRemove jdim Configurations and Data
To remove jdim configuration and data from Kali Linux we can use the following command:
sudo apt-get -y purge jdimRemove jdim configuration, data, and all of its dependencies
We can use the following command to remove jdim configurations, data and all of its dependencies, we can use the following command:
sudo apt-get -y autoremove --purge jdimDependencies
