What is javacc4

javacc4 is:

Java Compiler-Compiler (JavaCC) is (according to sun) “the most popular parser generator” for use with Java [tm] applications.

A parser generator is a tool that reads a grammar specification and converts it to a Java program that can recognize matches to the grammar. In addition to the parser generator itself, JavaCC provides other standard capabilities related to parser generation such as tree building (via a tool called JJTree included with JavaCC), actions, debugging, etc.

There are three methods to install javacc4 on Kali Linux. We can use apt-get, apt and aptitude. In the following sections we will describe each method. You can choose one of them.

Install javacc4 Using apt-get

Update apt database with apt-get using the following command.

sudo apt-get update

After updating apt database, We can install javacc4 using apt-get by running the following command:

sudo apt-get -y install javacc4

Install javacc4 Using apt

Update apt database with apt using the following command.

sudo apt update

After updating apt database, We can install javacc4 using apt by running the following command:

sudo apt -y install javacc4

Install javacc4 Using aptitude

If you want to follow this method, you might need to install aptitude on Kali Linux first since aptitude is usually not installed by default on Kali Linux. Update apt database with aptitude using the following command.

sudo aptitude update

After updating apt database, We can install javacc4 using aptitude by running the following command:

sudo aptitude -y install javacc4

How To Uninstall javacc4 on Kali Linux

To uninstall only the javacc4 package we can use the following command:

sudo apt-get remove javacc4

Uninstall javacc4 And Its Dependencies

To uninstall javacc4 and its dependencies that are no longer needed by Kali Linux, we can use the command below:

sudo apt-get -y autoremove javacc4

Remove javacc4 Configurations and Data

To remove javacc4 configuration and data from Kali Linux we can use the following command:

sudo apt-get -y purge javacc4

Remove javacc4 configuration, data, and all of its dependencies
