How To Install javacc on Kali Linux
Introduction
In this tutorial we learn how to install javacc on Kali Linux.
What is javacc
javacc is:
Java Compiler-Compiler (JavaCC) is (according to sun) “the most popular parser generator” for use with Java [tm] applications.
A parser generator is a tool that reads a grammar specification and converts it to a Java program that can recognize matches to the grammar. In addition to the parser generator itself, JavaCC provides other standard capabilities related to parser generation such as tree building (via a tool called JJTree included with JavaCC), actions, debugging, etc.
There are three methods to install javacc on Kali Linux. We can use apt-get, apt and aptitude. In the following sections we will describe each method. You can choose one of them.
Install javacc Using apt-get
Update apt database with apt-get using the following command.
sudo apt-get updateAfter updating apt database, We can install javacc using apt-get by running the following command:
sudo apt-get -y install javaccInstall javacc Using apt
Update apt database with apt using the following command.
sudo apt updateAfter updating apt database, We can install javacc using apt by running the following command:
sudo apt -y install javaccInstall javacc Using aptitude
If you want to follow this method, you might need to install aptitude on Kali Linux first since aptitude is usually not installed by default on Kali Linux. Update apt database with aptitude using the following command.
sudo aptitude updateAfter updating apt database, We can install javacc using aptitude by running the following command:
sudo aptitude -y install javaccHow To Uninstall javacc on Kali Linux
To uninstall only the javacc package we can use the following command:
sudo apt-get remove javaccUninstall javacc And Its Dependencies
To uninstall javacc and its dependencies that are no longer needed by Kali Linux, we can use the command below:
sudo apt-get -y autoremove javaccRemove javacc Configurations and Data
To remove javacc configuration and data from Kali Linux we can use the following command:
sudo apt-get -y purge javaccRemove javacc configuration, data, and all of its dependencies
We can use the following command to remove javacc configurations, data and all of its dependencies, we can use the following command:
sudo apt-get -y autoremove --purge javaccDependencies
