In this tutorial we learn how to install java-dirq on CentOS 7.

What is java-dirq

The goal of this module is to offer a simple queue system using the underlying file system for storage, security and to prevent race conditions via atomic operations. It focuses on simplicity, robustness and scalability. This module allows multiple concurrent readers and writers to interact with the same queue. A Perl implementation (Directory implementation (dirq) of the same algorithm are available so readers and writers can be written in different programming languages.

We can use yum or dnf to install java-dirq on CentOS 7. In this tutorial we discuss both methods but you only need to choose one of method to install java-dirq.

Install java-dirq on CentOS 7 Using yum

Update yum database with yum using the following command.

sudo yum makecache

After updating yum database, We can install java-dirq using yum by running the following command:

sudo yum -y install java-dirq

Install java-dirq on CentOS 7 Using dnf

If you don’t have dnf installed you can install DNF on CentOS 7 first. Update yum database with dnf using the following command.

sudo dnf makecache

After updating yum database, We can install java-dirq using dnf by running the following command:

sudo dnf -y install java-dirq

How To Uninstall java-dirq on CentOS 7

To uninstall only the java-dirq package we can use the following command:

sudo dnf remove java-dirq
