How To Install jack-delay on Kali Linux

Introduction

In this tutorial we learn how to install jack-delay on Kali Linux.

What is jack-delay

jack-delay is:

jack_delay can be used to measure the round-trip latency of a soundcard. To do this, start the program and connect like this:

jack_delay -> playback_port -> cable from soundcard output to input -> -> capture port -> jack_delay

jack_delay generates a signal consisting of 13 sine waves, measures the phase difference between the input and output for each of these, and computes the delay from those phase differences. The algorithm used is one developed originally for satellite ranging - that is measuring the distance between a satellite and a ground station.

There are three methods to install jack-delay on Kali Linux. We can use apt-get, apt and aptitude. In the following sections we will describe each method. You can choose one of them.

Install jack-delay Using apt-get

Update apt database with apt-get using the following command.

sudo apt-get update

After updating apt database, We can install jack-delay using apt-get by running the following command:

sudo apt-get -y install jack-delay

Install jack-delay Using apt

Update apt database with apt using the following command.
