How To Install itamae on Ubuntu 22.04

on Ubuntu 22.04.
What is itamae
itamae is:
Itamae is a simple and lightweight configuration management tool inspired by Chef. It has a Chef-like DSL, recipes only, and is idempotent.
Itamae can run locally, or over SSH. It can also operate on Docker or Vagrant targets. Itamae leverages the Serverspec/Specinfra project to be OS agnostic.
There are three methods to install itamae
on Ubuntu 22.04. We can use apt-get
, apt
and aptitude
. In the following sections we will describe each method. You can choose one of them.
Install itamae Using apt-get
Update apt database with apt-get
using the following command.
sudo apt-get update
After updating apt database, We can install itamae
using apt-get
by running the following command:
sudo apt-get -y install itamae

After updating apt database, We can install itamae

Install itamae Using aptitude
If you want to follow this method, you might need to install aptitude first since aptitude is usually not installed by default on Ubuntu. Update apt database with aptitude

sudo apt-get -y autoremove itamae
Remove itamae Configurations and Data

configuration and data from Ubuntu 22.04 we can use the following command:
sudo apt-get -y purge itamae
