How To Install isc-dhcp-client on Kali Linux

This is the Internet Software Consortium’s DHCP client.
Dynamic Host Configuration Protocol (DHCP) is a protocol like BOOTP (actually dhcpd includes much of the functionality of bootpd). It gives client machines “leases” for IP addresses and can automatically set their network configuration. If your machine depends on DHCP (especially likely if it’s a workstation on a large network, or a laptop, or attached to a cable modem), keep this or another DHCP client installed.

There are three methods to install isc-dhcp-client on Kali Linux. We can use apt-get, apt and aptitude. In the following sections we will describe each method. You can choose one of them.
Install isc-dhcp-client Using apt-get
Update apt database with apt-get using the following command.
sudo apt-get updateAfter updating apt database, We can install isc-dhcp-client using apt-get by running the following command:
sudo apt-get -y install isc-dhcp-clientInstall isc-dhcp-client Using apt
Update apt database with apt using the following command.
sudo apt updateAfter updating apt database, We can install isc-dhcp-client using apt by running the following command:

If you want to follow this method, you might need to install aptitude on Kali Linux first since aptitude is usually not installed by default on Kali Linux. Update apt database with aptitude using the following command.

To uninstall only the isc-dhcp-client package we can use the following command:

To uninstall isc-dhcp-client and its dependencies that are no longer needed by Kali Linux, we can use the command below:

To remove isc-dhcp-client configuration and data from Kali Linux we can use the following command:
sudo apt-get -y purge isc-dhcp-clientRemove isc-dhcp-client configuration, data, and all of its dependencies
