How To Install ironseed on Kali Linux

In this tutorial we learn how to install ironseed on Kali Linux.

What is ironseed

ironseed is:

It was originally both developed and published by Channel 7 for DOS in 1994. Gameplay is real-time, featuring trading, diplomacy, and strategy, and somewhat resembles Star Control 2 / Ur-Quan masters.

Storyline: Escaping the iron fist of a fanatic theocracy, the members of the Ironseed Movement launch into space and are set adrift after suffering a computer malfunction. As captain, you awaken along with the crew some thousand years later and are confronted by an alien horde…

There are three methods to install ironseed on Kali Linux. We can use apt-get, apt and aptitude. In the following sections we will describe each method. You can choose one of them.

Install ironseed Using apt-get

Update apt database with apt-get using the following command.

sudo apt-get update

After updating apt database, We can install ironseed using apt-get by running the following command:

sudo apt-get -y install ironseed

Install ironseed Using apt

Update apt database with apt using the following command.

sudo apt update

After updating apt database, We can install ironseed using apt by running the following command:

sudo apt -y install ironseed

Install ironseed Using aptitude

If you want to follow this method, you might need to install aptitude on Kali Linux first since aptitude is usually not installed by default on Kali Linux. Update apt database with aptitude using the following command.

sudo aptitude update

After updating apt database, We can install ironseed using aptitude by running the following command:

sudo aptitude -y install ironseed

How To Uninstall ironseed on Kali Linux

To uninstall only the ironseed package we can use the following command:

sudo apt-get remove ironseed

Uninstall ironseed And Its Dependencies

To uninstall ironseed and its dependencies that are no longer needed by Kali Linux, we can use the command below:

sudo apt-get -y autoremove ironseed

Remove ironseed Configurations and Data

To remove ironseed configuration and data from Kali Linux we can use the following command:

sudo apt-get -y purge ironseed

Remove ironseed configuration, data, and all of its dependencies

We can use the following command to remove ironseed configurations, data and all of its dependencies, we can use the following command:

sudo apt-get -y autoremove --purge ironseed
