How To Install ironic-doc on Debian 12

In this tutorial we learn how to install ironic-doc
on Debian 12.
What is ironic-doc
ironic-doc is:
Ironic provision bare metal machines instead of virtual machines. It is a fork of the Nova Baremetal driver. It is best thought of as a bare metal hypervisor API and a set of plugins which interact with the bare metal hypervisors. By default, it will use PXE and IPMI in concert to provision and turn on/off machines, but Ironic also supports vendor-specific plugins which may implement additional functionality.

There are three methods to install ironic-doc
on Debian 12. We can use apt-get
, apt
and aptitude
. In the following sections we will describe each method. You can choose one of them.
Install ironic-doc Using apt-get
Update apt database with apt-get
using the following command.
sudo apt-get update
After updating apt database, We can install ironic-doc
using apt-get
by running the following command:
sudo apt-get -y install ironic-doc
Install ironic-doc Using apt
Update apt database with apt
using the following command.
sudo apt update
After updating apt database, We can install ironic-doc
using apt
by running the following command:
sudo apt -y install ironic-doc
Install ironic-doc Using aptitude
If you want to follow this method, you might need to install aptitude first since aptitude is usually not installed by default on Debian. Update apt database with aptitude
using the following command.
sudo aptitude update
After updating apt database, We can install ironic-doc
using aptitude
by running the following command:
sudo aptitude -y install ironic-doc
How To Uninstall ironic-doc on Debian 12
To uninstall only the ironic-doc
package we can use the following command:
sudo apt-get remove ironic-doc
Uninstall ironic-doc And Its Dependencies
To uninstall ironic-doc
and its dependencies that are no longer needed by Debian 12, we can use the command below:
sudo apt-get -y autoremove ironic-doc
Remove ironic-doc Configurations and Data
To remove ironic-doc
configuration and data from Debian 12 we can use the following command:
sudo apt-get -y purge ironic-doc
Remove ironic-doc configuration, data, and all of its dependencies
We can use the following command to remove ironic-doc

sudo apt-get -y autoremove --purge ironic-doc
