How To Install iptables-ebtables on CentOS 8

What is iptables-ebtables
Ethernet bridge tables is a firewalling tool to transparently filter network traffic passing a bridge. The filtering possibilities are limited to link layer filtering and some basic filtering on higher network layers. This tool is the userspace control for the bridge and ebtables kernel components (built by default in RHEL kernels). The ebtables tool can be used together with the other Linux filtering tools, like iptables. There are no known incompatibility issues. Note replacement of the legacy tool. We can use yum or dnf to install iptables-ebtables on CentOS 8. In this tutorial we discuss both methods but you only need to choose one of method to install iptables-ebtables.
Install iptables-ebtables on CentOS 8 Using yum
Update yum database with yum using the following command.
sudo yum makecache
After updating yum database, We can install iptables-ebtables using yum by running the following command:
sudo yum -y install iptables-ebtables
Install iptables-ebtables on CentOS 8 Using dnf
If you don’t have dnf installed you can install DNF on CentOS 7 first.
Update yum database with dnf using the following command.
sudo dnf makecache
After updating yum database, We can install iptables-ebtables using dnf by running the following command:
sudo dnf -y install iptables-ebtables
How To Uninstall iptables-ebtables on CentOS 8
To uninstall only the iptables-ebtables package we can use the following command:
sudo dnf remove iptables-ebtables
