What is iproute
The iproute package contains networking utilities (ip and rtmon, for example) which are designed to use the advanced networking capabilities of the Linux kernel. Install iproute on CentOS 8 Using yum
Update yum database with yum using the following command.
sudo yum makecache
After updating yum database, We can install iproute using yum by running the following command:
sudo yum -y install iproute
Install iproute on CentOS 8 Using dnf
If you don’t have dnf installed you can install DNF on CentOS 7 first.
Update yum database with dnf using the following command.
sudo dnf makecache
After updating yum database, We can install iproute using dnf by running the following command:
sudo dnf -y install iproute
How To Uninstall iproute on CentOS 8
To uninstall only the iproute package we can use the following command:
sudo dnf remove iproute
