How To Install iprange on Ubuntu 18.04

What is iprange

Why to use iprange over any other aggregate ?

- supports many input formats, all together in the same file
- faster, actually a lot faster (thanks to the original design by Gabriel Somlo)
- can reduce the subnets/prefixes to produce high-performing netfilter/iptables ipsets
- can compare files with IPs to find if they overlap and to what degree
- can find the IPs common to a set of files
- can exclude IPs (merge a set of files while excluding all IPs matched by another set of files)
There are three methods to install iprange on Ubuntu 18.04. We can use apt-get, apt and aptitude. In the following sections we will describe each method. You can choose one of them.
Install iprange Using apt-get
Update apt database with apt-get using the following command.
sudo apt-get update
After updating apt database, We can install iprange using apt-get by running the following command:
sudo apt-get -y install iprange
Install iprange Using apt
Update apt database with apt using the following command.
sudo apt update
After updating apt database, We can install iprange using apt by running the following command:
sudo apt -y install iprange
Install iprange Using aptitude
If you want to follow this method, you might need to install aptitude first since aptitude is usually not installed by default on Ubuntu. Update apt database with aptitude using the following command.

After updating apt database, We can install iprange using aptitude by running the following command:
sudo aptitude -y install iprange
How To Uninstall iprange on Ubuntu 18.04
To uninstall only the iprange package we can use the following command:
sudo apt-get remove iprange
Uninstall iprange And Its Dependencies
To uninstall iprange and its dependencies that are no longer needed by Ubuntu 18.04, we can use the command below:
sudo apt-get -y autoremove iprange
Remove iprange Configurations and Data
To remove iprange configuration and data from Ubuntu 18.04 we can use the following command:
sudo apt-get -y purge iprange
Remove iprange configuration, data, and all of its dependencies
We can use the following command to remove iprange configurations, data and all of its dependencies, we can use the following command:
sudo apt-get -y autoremove --purge iprange
