How To Install ipcheck on Ubuntu 18.04

on Ubuntu 18.04.
What is ipcheck
ipcheck is:
The Dynamic DNS service allows you to alias a dynamic IP address to a static hostname, allowing your computer to be more easily accessed from various locations on the Internet.
This is a simple Python script to register your dynamic IP address using the NIC V2.0 protocol.
The script is very easy to use and supports multiple methods for determining the external IP (parsing interfaces on the local machine, web based IP detection, direct support for devices from Linksys, Netgear, Draytek, Netopia, HawkingTech, Watchgard, Cayman, Nexland, ZyXEL, SMC, Compex, UgatePlus, DLink and Cisco). It also supports the dyndns offline mode.
Starting with version 0.141, ipcheck uses https by default and will fall back to http if a timeout occurs.
There are three methods to install ipcheck
on Ubuntu 18.04. We can use apt-get
, apt
and aptitude
. In the following sections we will describe each method. You can choose one of them.
Install ipcheck Using apt-get
Update apt database with apt-get
using the following command.
sudo apt-get update
After updating apt database, We can install ipcheck
using apt-get

After updating apt database, We can install ipcheck

sudo apt -y install ipcheck
Install ipcheck Using aptitude
If you want to follow this method, you might need to install aptitude first since aptitude is usually not installed by default on Ubuntu. Update apt database with aptitude
using the following command.
sudo aptitude update
After updating apt database, We can install ipcheck
using aptitude
by running the following command:
sudo aptitude -y install ipcheck
How To Uninstall ipcheck on Ubuntu 18.04
To uninstall only the ipcheck
package we can use the following command:
sudo apt-get remove ipcheck
Uninstall ipcheck And Its Dependencies
To uninstall ipcheck
and its dependencies that are no longer needed by Ubuntu 18.04, we can use the command below:
sudo apt-get -y autoremove ipcheck
Remove ipcheck Configurations and Data
To remove ipcheck
configuration and data from Ubuntu 18.04 we can use the following command:
sudo apt-get -y purge ipcheck
Remove ipcheck configuration, data, and all of its dependencies
We can use the following command to remove ipcheck
