What is ipa-client-common
IPA is an integrated solution to provide centrally managed Identity (users, hosts, services), Authentication (SSO, 2FA), and Authorization (host access control, SELinux user roles, services). The solution provides features for further integration with Linux based clients (SUDO, automount) and integration with Active Directory based infrastructures (Trusts). If your network uses IPA for authentication, this package should be installed on every client machine.
We can use yum
or dnf
to install ipa-client-common
on AlmaLinux 8. In this tutorial we discuss both methods but you only need to choose one of method to install ipa-client-common.
Install ipa-client-common on AlmaLinux 8 Using dnf
Update yum database with dnf
using the following command.
sudo dnf makecache --refresh
After updating yum database, We can install ipa-client-common
using dnf
by running the following command:
sudo dnf -y install ipa-client-common
Install ipa-client-common on AlmaLinux 8 Using yum
Update yum database with yum
using the following command.
sudo yum makecache --refresh
After updating yum database, We can install ipa-client-common
using yum
by running the following command:
sudo yum -y install ipa-client-common
How To Uninstall ipa-client-common on AlmaLinux 8
To uninstall only the ipa-client-common
package we can use the following command:
sudo dnf remove ipa-client-common
