How To Install intel-mkl on Debian 12

In this tutorial we learn how to install intel-mkl on Debian 12.
What is intel-mkl
intel-mkl is:
Intel? Math Kernel Library (Intel? MKL) is a computing math library of highly optimized, extensively threaded routines for applications that require maximum performance. The library provides Fortran and C programming language interfaces. Intel? MKL C language interfaces can be called from applications written in either C or C++, as well as in any other language that can reference a C interface.
This package pulls the basic set of development files and libraries of MKL in the present architecture. Cluster support is not included.
Note that MKL’s performance on AMD CPUs is not guaranteed.
There are three methods to install intel-mkl on Debian 12. We can use apt-get, apt and aptitude. In the following sections we will describe each method. You can choose one of them.
Install intel-mkl Using apt-get
Update apt database with apt-get using the following command.
sudo apt-get update
After updating apt database, We can install intel-mkl using apt-get by running the following command:
sudo apt-get -y install intel-mkl

Update apt database with apt using the following command.
sudo apt update
After updating apt database, We can install intel-mkl using apt by running the following command:
sudo apt -y install intel-mkl
Install intel-mkl Using aptitude
If you want to follow this method, you might need to install aptitude first since aptitude is usually not installed by default on Debian. Update apt database with aptitude using the following command.
sudo aptitude update
After updating apt database, We can install intel-mkl using aptitude by running the following command:
sudo aptitude -y install intel-mkl
How To Uninstall intel-mkl on Debian 12
To uninstall only the intel-mkl package we can use the following command:
sudo apt-get remove intel-mkl
Uninstall intel-mkl And Its Dependencies
To uninstall intel-mkl and its dependencies that are no longer needed by Debian 12, we can use the command below:
sudo apt-get -y autoremove intel-mkl
Remove intel-mkl Configurations and Data
To remove intel-mkl configuration and data from Debian 12 we can use the following command:
sudo apt-get -y purge intel-mkl
Remove intel-mkl configuration, data, and all of its dependencies
We can use the following command to remove intel-mkl configurations, data and all of its dependencies, we can use the following command:
sudo apt-get -y autoremove --purge intel-mkl
