How To Install intel-hdcp on Debian 12

The Intel(R) unified HDCP (High-bandwidth Digital Content Protection) is a user space implementation to prevent copying of digital audio & video content across digital display interfaces. It provides Linux user space implementation to enable the HDCP1.4 and HDCP2.2 protection for external digital display interfaces (HDMI/DP).
This package contains the userspace daemon.
There are three methods to install intel-hdcp on Debian 12. We can use apt-get, apt and aptitude. In the following sections we will describe each method. You can choose one of them.
Install intel-hdcp Using apt-get
Update apt database with apt-get using the following command.
sudo apt-get update
After updating apt database, We can install intel-hdcp using apt-get by running the following command:
sudo apt-get -y install intel-hdcp

Update apt database with apt using the following command.
sudo apt update
After updating apt database, We can install intel-hdcp using apt by running the following command:

Install intel-hdcp Using aptitude
If you want to follow this method, you might need to install aptitude first since aptitude is usually not installed by default on Debian. Update apt database with aptitude using the following command.
sudo aptitude update
After updating apt database, We can install intel-hdcp using aptitude by running the following command:
sudo aptitude -y install intel-hdcp
How To Uninstall intel-hdcp on Debian 12
To uninstall only the intel-hdcp package we can use the following command:
sudo apt-get remove intel-hdcp
Uninstall intel-hdcp And Its Dependencies
To uninstall intel-hdcp and its dependencies that are no longer needed by Debian 12, we can use the command below:
sudo apt-get -y autoremove intel-hdcp
Remove intel-hdcp Configurations and Data
To remove intel-hdcp configuration and data from Debian 12 we can use the following command:
sudo apt-get -y purge intel-hdcp
