How To Install imv on Ubuntu 20.04

What is imv
imv is:
imv is an image viewer for X11 and Wayland, aimed at users of tiling window managers. It supports a wide variety of image file formats, including animated gif files. imv will automatically reload the current image, if it is changed on disk.
The package provides the imv-x11 and x11-wayland binaries. The ‘imv’ wrapper script is not installed because of a file name clash with another package.
There are three methods to install imv on Ubuntu 20.04. We can use apt-get, apt and aptitude. In the following sections we will describe each method. You can choose one of them.
Install imv Using apt-get
Update apt database with apt-get using the following command.
sudo apt-get update
After updating apt database, We can install imv using apt-get by running the following command:
sudo apt-get -y install imv

Update apt database with apt using the following command.

After updating apt database, We can install imv using apt by running the following command:
sudo apt -y install imv
Install imv Using aptitude
If you want to follow this method, you might need to install aptitude first since aptitude is usually not installed by default on Ubuntu. Update apt database with aptitude using the following command.

How To Uninstall imv on Ubuntu 20.04
To uninstall only the imv package we can use the following command:

sudo apt-get -y autoremove imv

To remove imv configuration and data from Ubuntu 20.04 we can use the following command:
sudo apt-get -y purge imv
