This package contains a plugin which makes imlib2 capable of parsing id3 tags of mp3 files. This plugin is packaged separately because it links with libid3tag which is GPLv2+, thus making imlib2 and apps using it subject to the conditions of the GPL version 2 (or at your option) any later version.

We can use yum or dnf to install imlib2-id3tag-loader on CentOS 7. In this tutorial we discuss both methods but you only need to choose one of method to install imlib2-id3tag-loader.

Install imlib2-id3tag-loader on CentOS 7 Using yum

Update yum database with yum using the following command.

sudo yum makecache

After updating yum database, We can install imlib2-id3tag-loader using yum by running the following command:

sudo yum -y install imlib2-id3tag-loader

If you don’t have dnf installed you can install DNF on CentOS 7 first. Update yum database with dnf using the following command.

How To Uninstall imlib2-id3tag-loader on CentOS 7

To uninstall only the imlib2-id3tag-loader package we can use the following command:
