How To Install imlib2-devel on CentOS 7

What is imlib2-devel
This package contains development files for imlib2. Imlib 2 is a library that does image file loading and saving as well as rendering, manipulation, arbitrary polygon support, etc. It does ALL of these operations FAST. Imlib2 also tries to be highly intelligent about doing them, so writing naive programs can be done easily, without sacrificing speed. This is a complete rewrite over the Imlib 1.x series. The architecture is more modular, simple, and flexible.
We can use yum or dnf to install imlib2-devel on CentOS 7. In this tutorial we discuss both methods but you only need to choose one of method to install imlib2-devel.
Install imlib2-devel on CentOS 7 Using yum
Update yum database with yum using the following command.
sudo yum makecache
After updating yum database, We can install imlib2-devel using yum by running the following command:
sudo yum -y install imlib2-devel
Install imlib2-devel on CentOS 7 Using dnf
If you don’t have dnf installed you can install DNF on CentOS 7 first.
Update yum database with dnf using the following command.
sudo dnf makecache
After updating yum database, We can install imlib2-devel using dnf by running the following command:
sudo dnf -y install imlib2-devel
How To Uninstall imlib2-devel on CentOS 7
To uninstall only the imlib2-devel package we can use the following command:
sudo dnf remove imlib2-devel
