How To Install imlib on CentOS 7
Introduction
In this tutorial we learn how to install imlib on CentOS 7.
What is imlib
Imlib is a display depth independent image loading and rendering library. Imlib is designed to simplify and speed up the process of loading images and obtaining X Window System drawables. Imlib provides many simple manipulation routines which can be used for common operations. The imlib package also contains the imlib_config program, which you can use to configure the Imlib image loading and rendering library. Imlib_config can be used to control how Imlib uses color and handles gamma corrections, etc.
We can use yum or dnf to install imlib on CentOS 7. In this tutorial we discuss both methods but you only need to choose one of method to install imlib.
Install imlib on CentOS 7 Using yum
Update yum database with yum using the following command.
sudo yum makecache
After updating yum database, We can install imlib using yum by running the following command:
sudo yum -y install imlib
Install imlib on CentOS 7 Using dnf
If you don’t have dnf installed you can install DNF on CentOS 7 first.
Update yum database with dnf using the following command.
sudo dnf makecache
After updating yum database, We can install imlib using dnf by running the following command:
sudo dnf -y install imlib
How To Uninstall imlib on CentOS 7
To uninstall only the imlib package we can use the following command:
sudo dnf remove imlib
