How To Install imapsync on CentOS 7
Introduction
In this tutorial we learn how to install imapsync on CentOS 7.
What is imapsync
imapsync is a tool for facilitating incremental recursive IMAP transfers from one mailbox to another. It is useful for mailbox migration, and reduces the amount of data transferred by only copying messages that are not present on both servers. Read, unread, and deleted flags are preserved, and the process can be stopped and resumed. The original messages can optionally be deleted after a successful transfer.
We can use yum or dnf to install imapsync on CentOS 7. In this tutorial we discuss both methods but you only need to choose one of method to install imapsync.
Install imapsync on CentOS 7 Using yum
Update yum database with yum using the following command.
sudo yum makecache
After updating yum database, We can install imapsync using yum by running the following command:
sudo yum -y install imapsync
Install imapsync on CentOS 7 Using dnf
If you don’t have dnf installed you can install DNF on CentOS 7 first.
Update yum database with dnf using the following command.
sudo dnf makecache
After updating yum database, We can install imapsync using dnf by running the following command:
sudo dnf -y install imapsync
How To Uninstall imapsync on CentOS 7
To uninstall only the imapsync package we can use the following command:
sudo dnf remove imapsync
