How To Install ifrit on Debian 10
Introduction
In this tutorial we learn how to install ifrit on Debian 10.
What is ifrit
ifrit is:
IFRIT (the Ionization FRont Interactive Tool) has its origins (and hence name) in a specialized utility designed to visualize ionization fronts in cosmological numerical simulations. IFRIT, however, has outgrown its origins and now can visualize general data sets as well.
IFRIT is written in C++ and is based on two state-of-the-art toolkits: the Visualization ToolKit (VTK) and a GUI toolkit QT.
There are three methods to install ifrit on Debian 10. We can use apt-get, apt and aptitude. In the following sections we will describe each method. You can choose one of them.
Install ifrit Using apt-get
Update apt database with apt-get using the following command.
sudo apt-get update
After updating apt database, We can install ifrit using apt-get by running the following command:

After updating apt database, We can install ifrit using apt by running the following command:

Install ifrit Using aptitude
If you want to follow this method, you might need to install aptitude first since aptitude is usually not installed by default on Debian. Update apt database with aptitude using the following command.
sudo aptitude update
After updating apt database, We can install ifrit using aptitude by running the following command:
sudo aptitude -y install ifrit
How To Uninstall ifrit on Debian 10
To uninstall only the ifrit package we can use the following command:
sudo apt-get remove ifrit

To uninstall ifrit and its dependencies that are no longer needed by Debian 10, we can use the command below:
sudo apt-get -y autoremove ifrit
Remove ifrit Configurations and Data
To remove ifrit configuration and data from Debian 10 we can use the following command:
