How To Install ifhp on Kali Linux
Introduction
In this tutorial we learn how to install ifhp on Kali Linux.
What is ifhp
ifhp is:
ifhp is a highly versatile print filter for BSD based print spoolers. It can be configured to handle text, PostScript, PJL, PCL, and raster printers, supports conversion from one format to another, and can be used as a stand-alone print utility. It is the primary supported print filter for the LPRng print spooler.
It provides access to printer features like duplex printing, paper tray selection and strong accounting using the printer’s internal page counter.
There are three methods to install ifhp on Kali Linux. We can use apt-get, apt and aptitude. In the following sections we will describe each method. You can choose one of them.
Install ifhp Using apt-get
Update apt database with apt-get using the following command.
sudo apt-get updateAfter updating apt database, We can install ifhp using apt-get by running the following command:
sudo apt-get -y install ifhpInstall ifhp Using apt
Update apt database with apt using the following command.
sudo apt updateAfter updating apt database, We can install ifhp using apt by running the following command:
sudo apt -y install ifhpInstall ifhp Using aptitude
If you want to follow this method, you might need to install aptitude on Kali Linux first since aptitude is usually not installed by default on Kali Linux. Update apt database with aptitude using the following command.
sudo aptitude updateAfter updating apt database, We can install ifhp using aptitude by running the following command:
sudo aptitude -y install ifhpHow To Uninstall ifhp on Kali Linux
To uninstall only the ifhp package we can use the following command:
sudo apt-get remove ifhpUninstall ifhp And Its Dependencies
To uninstall ifhp and its dependencies that are no longer needed by Kali Linux, we can use the command below:
sudo apt-get -y autoremove ifhpRemove ifhp Configurations and Data
To remove ifhp configuration and data from Kali Linux we can use the following command:
sudo apt-get -y purge ifhpRemove ifhp configuration, data, and all of its dependencies
We can use the following command to remove ifhp configurations, data and all of its dependencies, we can use the following command:
sudo apt-get -y autoremove --purge ifhpDependencies
