How To Install iceoryx on Debian 12

on Debian 12.
What is iceoryx
iceoryx is:
Iceoryx is an inter-process communication (IPC) middleware for POSIX based operating systems. It features shared memory capabilities which allow a true zero-copy data transfer.
Originating from the automotive domain, it is crucial to transfer a huge amount of data between multiple processes to realize driver assistance systems or automated driving applications. Moreover, the same efficient communication mechanism can be applied to a broader range of use cases, e.g. in the field of robotics or game development.
This package provides the central RouDi daemon and the introspection tool for Iceoryx.
There are three methods to install iceoryx
on Debian 12. We can use apt-get
, apt
and aptitude
. In the following sections we will describe each method. You can choose one of them.
Install iceoryx Using apt-get
Update apt database with apt-get
using the following command.
sudo apt-get update
After updating apt database, We can install iceoryx
using apt-get
by running the following command:
sudo apt-get -y install iceoryx
Install iceoryx Using apt
Update apt database with apt
using the following command.
sudo apt update
After updating apt database, We can install iceoryx
using apt
by running the following command:
sudo apt -y install iceoryx
Install iceoryx Using aptitude
If you want to follow this method, you might need to install aptitude first since aptitude is usually not installed by default on Debian. Update apt database with aptitude
using the following command.
sudo aptitude update
After updating apt database, We can install iceoryx
using aptitude
by running the following command:
sudo aptitude -y install iceoryx
How To Uninstall iceoryx on Debian 12
To uninstall only the iceoryx
package we can use the following command:
sudo apt-get remove iceoryx
Uninstall iceoryx And Its Dependencies
To uninstall iceoryx
and its dependencies that are no longer needed by Debian 12, we can use the command below:
sudo apt-get -y autoremove iceoryx
Remove iceoryx Configurations and Data
To remove iceoryx
configuration and data from Debian 12 we can use the following command:
sudo apt-get -y purge iceoryx
Remove iceoryx configuration, data, and all of its dependencies
We can use the following command to remove iceoryx
configurations, data and all of its dependencies, we can use the following command:
sudo apt-get -y autoremove --purge iceoryx
