How To Install icecc on Kali Linux
Introduction
In this tutorial we learn how to install icecc
on Kali Linux.
What is icecc
icecc is:
icecc (also known as Icecream) is a distributed compile system. It allows parallel compiling by distributing the compile jobs to several nodes of a compile network running the icecc daemon. The icecc scheduler routes the jobs and provides status and statistics information to the icecc monitor.
Each compile node can accept one or more compile jobs depending on the number of processors and the settings of the daemon. Link jobs and other jobs which cannot be distributed are executed locally on the node where the compilation is started.
There are three methods to install icecc
on Kali Linux. We can use apt-get
, apt
and aptitude
. In the following sections we will describe each method. You can choose one of them.
Install icecc Using apt-get
Update apt database with apt-get
using the following command.
sudo apt-get update
After updating apt database, We can install icecc
using apt-get
by running the following command:
sudo apt-get -y install icecc
Install icecc Using apt
Update apt database with apt
using the following command.
sudo apt update
After updating apt database, We can install icecc
using apt
by running the following command:
sudo apt -y install icecc
Install icecc Using aptitude
If you want to follow this method, you might need to install aptitude on Kali Linux first since aptitude is usually not installed by default on Kali Linux. Update apt database with aptitude
using the following command.
sudo aptitude update
After updating apt database, We can install icecc
using aptitude
by running the following command:
sudo aptitude -y install icecc
How To Uninstall icecc on Kali Linux
To uninstall only the icecc
package we can use the following command:
sudo apt-get remove icecc
Uninstall icecc And Its Dependencies
To uninstall icecc
and its dependencies that are no longer needed by Kali Linux, we can use the command below:
sudo apt-get -y autoremove icecc
Remove icecc Configurations and Data
To remove icecc
configuration and data from Kali Linux we can use the following command:
sudo apt-get -y purge icecc
Remove icecc configuration, data, and all of its dependencies
We can use the following command to remove icecc
configurations, data and all of its dependencies, we can use the following command:
sudo apt-get -y autoremove --purge icecc
