What is icc-profiles
icc-profiles is:
Color management allows controlled conversion between color representation of input and output devices and color spaces. ICC profiles are an important part of color management. They are data files that represent mappings between the input or output color space of a particular device and the device-agnostic profile connection space (PCS) in accordance with the standards set by the International Color Consortium (ICC). This package contains a number of high quality ICC color profiles for use with color profile aware software such as Scribus, Gimp, CinePaint, Krita, or Digikam. In general this package is useful if the software using it was built against a color management support library such as liblcms1 or liblcms2-2. In some software such as Scribus you have to explicitly enable color managemenent in the preferences to be able to use these profiles.
There are three methods to install icc-profiles
on Debian 12. We can use apt-get
, apt
and aptitude
. In the following sections we will describe each method. You can choose one of them.
Install icc-profiles Using apt-get
Update apt database with apt-get
using the following command.
sudo apt-get update
After updating apt database, We can install icc-profiles
using apt-get
by running the following command:
sudo apt-get -y install icc-profiles

Update apt database with apt

After updating apt database, We can install icc-profiles

by running the following command:
sudo apt -y install icc-profiles
Install icc-profiles Using aptitude
If you want to follow this method, you might need to install aptitude first since aptitude is usually not installed by default on Debian. Update apt database with aptitude
using the following command.
sudo aptitude update
After updating apt database, We can install icc-profiles
using aptitude
by running the following command:
sudo aptitude -y install icc-profiles
How To Uninstall icc-profiles on Debian 12
To uninstall only the icc-profiles
package we can use the following command:
sudo apt-get remove icc-profiles
Uninstall icc-profiles And Its Dependencies
To uninstall icc-profiles
and its dependencies that are no longer needed by Debian 12, we can use the command below:
sudo apt-get -y autoremove icc-profiles
Remove icc-profiles Configurations and Data
To remove icc-profiles
configuration and data from Debian 12 we can use the following command:
sudo apt-get -y purge icc-profiles
Remove icc-profiles configuration, data, and all of its dependencies
