How To Install ibverbs-utils on Ubuntu 18.04

What is ibverbs-utils
ibverbs-utils is:
libibverbs is a library that allows userspace processes to use RDMA “verbs” as described in the InfiniBand Architecture Specification and the RDMA Protocol Verbs Specification. iWARP ethernet NICs support RDMA over hardware-offloaded TCP/IP, while InfiniBand is a high-throughput, low-latency networking technology. InfiniBand host channel adapters (HCAs) and iWARP NICs commonly support direct hardware access from userspace (kernel bypass), and libibverbs supports this when available.
This package contains useful libibverbs1 example programs such as ibv_devinfo, which displays information about InfiniBand devices.
There are three methods to install ibverbs-utils on Ubuntu 18.04. We can use apt-get, apt and aptitude. In the following sections we will describe each method. You can choose one of them.
Install ibverbs-utils Using apt-get
Update apt database with apt-get using the following command.
sudo apt-get update
After updating apt database, We can install ibverbs-utils using apt-get by running the following command:

Update apt database with apt using the following command.
sudo apt update
After updating apt database, We can install ibverbs-utils using apt by running the following command:

Install ibverbs-utils Using aptitude
If you want to follow this method, you might need to install aptitude first since aptitude is usually not installed by default on Ubuntu. Update apt database with aptitude using the following command.
sudo aptitude update
After updating apt database, We can install ibverbs-utils using aptitude by running the following command:
sudo aptitude -y install ibverbs-utils
How To Uninstall ibverbs-utils on Ubuntu 18.04
To uninstall only the ibverbs-utils package we can use the following command:
sudo apt-get remove ibverbs-utils
Uninstall ibverbs-utils And Its Dependencies
To uninstall ibverbs-utils and its dependencies that are no longer needed by Ubuntu 18.04, we can use the command below:
sudo apt-get -y autoremove ibverbs-utils
Remove ibverbs-utils Configurations and Data
To remove ibverbs-utils configuration and data from Ubuntu 18.04 we can use the following command:
sudo apt-get -y purge ibverbs-utils
Remove ibverbs-utils configuration, data, and all of its dependencies
We can use the following command to remove ibverbs-utils configurations, data and all of its dependencies, we can use the following command:
sudo apt-get -y autoremove --purge ibverbs-utils
