How To Install i3-gaps on Kali Linux

In this tutorial we learn how to install i3-gaps on Kali Linux.
What is i3-gaps
i3-gaps is:
This metapackage installs the i3-gaps window manager (i3-gaps-wm), the i3lock-color screen locker, i3status (for system information) and suckless-tools (for dmenu). These are all the tools you need to use the i3-gaps window manager efficiently.
There are three methods to install i3-gaps on Kali Linux. We can use apt-get, apt and aptitude. In the following sections we will describe each method. You can choose one of them.
Install i3-gaps Using apt-get
Update apt database with apt-get using the following command.
sudo apt-get updateAfter updating apt database, We can install i3-gaps using apt-get by running the following command:
sudo apt-get -y install i3-gapsInstall i3-gaps Using apt
Update apt database with apt using the following command.
sudo apt updateAfter updating apt database, We can install i3-gaps using apt by running the following command:
sudo apt -y install i3-gapsInstall i3-gaps Using aptitude
If you want to follow this method, you might need to install aptitude on Kali Linux first since aptitude is usually not installed by default on Kali Linux. Update apt database with aptitude using the following command.
sudo aptitude updateAfter updating apt database, We can install i3-gaps using aptitude by running the following command:

To uninstall only the i3-gaps package we can use the following command:

To uninstall i3-gaps and its dependencies that are no longer needed by Kali Linux, we can use the command below:
sudo apt-get -y autoremove i3-gapsRemove i3-gaps Configurations and Data
To remove i3-gaps configuration and data from Kali Linux we can use the following command:
sudo apt-get -y purge i3-gapsRemove i3-gaps configuration, data, and all of its dependencies
