What is hyperrogue

hyperrogue is:

HyperRogue is a game in which the player collects treasures and fights monsters – rogue-like but for the fact that it is played on the hyperbolic plane and not in euclidean space.

In HyperRogue, the player can move through different parts of the world, which are home to particular creatures and may be subject to own rules of “physics”.

While it can use ASCII characters to display the world the classical rogue symbols, the game needs graphics to render the non-euclidean world.

There are three methods to install hyperrogue on Kali Linux. We can use apt-get, apt and aptitude. In the following sections we will describe each method. You can choose one of them.

Install hyperrogue Using apt-get

Update apt database with apt-get using the following command.

sudo apt-get update

After updating apt database, We can install hyperrogue using apt-get by running the following command:

sudo apt-get -y install hyperrogue

Install hyperrogue Using apt

Update apt database with apt using the following command.

sudo apt update

After updating apt database, We can install hyperrogue using apt by running the following command:

sudo apt -y install hyperrogue

Install hyperrogue Using aptitude

If you want to follow this method, you might need to install aptitude on Kali Linux first since aptitude is usually not installed by default on Kali Linux. Update apt database with aptitude using the following command.

sudo aptitude update

After updating apt database, We can install hyperrogue using aptitude by running the following command:

sudo aptitude -y install hyperrogue

How To Uninstall hyperrogue on Kali Linux

To uninstall only the hyperrogue package we can use the following command:

sudo apt-get remove hyperrogue

Uninstall hyperrogue And Its Dependencies

To uninstall hyperrogue and its dependencies that are no longer needed by Kali Linux, we can use the command below:

sudo apt-get -y autoremove hyperrogue

Remove hyperrogue Configurations and Data

To remove hyperrogue configuration and data from Kali Linux we can use the following command:

sudo apt-get -y purge hyperrogue
