How To Install hyperion on Kali Linux
Introduction
In this tutorial we learn how to install hyperion on Kali Linux.
What is hyperion
hyperion is:
This package contains a runtime encrypter for 32-bit portable executables. It is a reference implementation and bases on the paper “Hyperion: Implementation of a PE-Crypter”. The paper describes the implementation details which aren’t in the scope of this readme file. The crypter is started via the command line and encrypts an input executable with AES-128. The encrypted file decrypts itself on startup (bruteforcing the AES key which may take a few seconds) and generates a log file for debug purpose.
There are three methods to install hyperion on Kali Linux. We can use apt-get, apt and aptitude. In the following sections we will describe each method. You can choose one of them.
Install hyperion Using apt-get
Update apt database with apt-get using the following command.
sudo apt-get updateAfter updating apt database, We can install hyperion using apt-get by running the following command:
sudo apt-get -y install hyperionInstall hyperion Using apt
Update apt database with apt using the following command.
sudo apt updateAfter updating apt database, We can install hyperion using apt by running the following command:
sudo apt -y install hyperionInstall hyperion Using aptitude
If you want to follow this method, you might need to install aptitude on Kali Linux first since aptitude is usually not installed by default on Kali Linux. Update apt database with aptitude using the following command.
sudo aptitude updateAfter updating apt database, We can install hyperion using aptitude by running the following command:
sudo aptitude -y install hyperionHow To Uninstall hyperion on Kali Linux
To uninstall only the hyperion package we can use the following command:
sudo apt-get remove hyperionUninstall hyperion And Its Dependencies
To uninstall hyperion and its dependencies that are no longer needed by Kali Linux, we can use the command below:
sudo apt-get -y autoremove hyperionRemove hyperion Configurations and Data
To remove hyperion configuration and data from Kali Linux we can use the following command:
sudo apt-get -y purge hyperionRemove hyperion configuration, data, and all of its dependencies
We can use the following command to remove hyperion configurations, data and all of its dependencies, we can use the following command:
sudo apt-get -y autoremove --purge hyperionDependencies
