In this tutorial we learn how to install hugin
on Debian 11.
What is hugin
hugin is:
Hugin is a panorama photo stitching program. Essentially, Hugin is a GUI frontend for Panorama Tools. Stitching is accomplished by using several overlapping photos taken from the same location, and using control points to align and transform the photos so that they can be blended together to form a larger image. Hugin allows for the easy creation of control points between two images, optimization of the image transforms, and much more.
This package includes the following graphical interfaces, using the command-line tools provided in the hugin-tools package:
- hugin - Hugin panorama creator.
- hugin_stitch_project - Hugin batch stitcher.
- PTBatcherGUI - Batch controller for the stitching process.
- calibrate_lens_gui - Lens calibration tool.
There are three methods to install hugin
on Debian 11. We can use apt-get
, apt
and aptitude
. In the following sections we will describe each method. You can choose one of them.
Install hugin Using apt-get
Update apt database with apt-get
using the following command.
sudo apt-get update
After updating apt database, We can install hugin
using apt-get
by running the following command:

If you want to follow this method, you might need to install aptitude first since aptitude is usually not installed by default on Debian. Update apt database with aptitude

After updating apt database, We can install hugin

How To Uninstall hugin on Debian 11
To uninstall only the hugin
package we can use the following command:
sudo apt-get remove hugin

To uninstall hugin

sudo apt-get -y autoremove hugin
Remove hugin Configurations and Data

configuration and data from Debian 11 we can use the following command:
