How To Install httpry-tools on Ubuntu 18.04

In this tutorial we learn how to install httpry-tools on Ubuntu 18.04.
What is httpry-tools
httpry-tools is:
httpry is a tool designed for displaying and logging HTTP traffic. It is not intended to perform analysis itself, but instead to capture, parse and/or log the traffic for later analysis. It can be run in real-time displaying the live traffic on the wire, or as a daemon process that logs to an output file. It is written to be as lightweight and flexible as possible, so that it can be easily adaptable to different applications. It does not display the raw HTTP data transferred, but instead focuses on parsing and displaying the request/response line along with associated header fields.
This package contains log parsing scripts written in Perl.
There are three methods to install httpry-tools on Ubuntu 18.04. We can use apt-get, apt and aptitude. In the following sections we will describe each method. You can choose one of them.
Install httpry-tools Using apt-get
Update apt database with apt-get using the following command.
sudo apt-get update
After updating apt database, We can install httpry-tools using apt-get by running the following command:
sudo apt-get -y install httpry-tools

Update apt database with apt using the following command.
sudo apt update
After updating apt database, We can install httpry-tools using apt by running the following command:
sudo apt -y install httpry-tools
Install httpry-tools Using aptitude
If you want to follow this method, you might need to install aptitude first since aptitude is usually not installed by default on Ubuntu. Update apt database with aptitude using the following command.
sudo aptitude update
After updating apt database, We can install httpry-tools using aptitude by running the following command:
sudo aptitude -y install httpry-tools
How To Uninstall httpry-tools on Ubuntu 18.04
To uninstall only the httpry-tools package we can use the following command:
sudo apt-get remove httpry-tools
Uninstall httpry-tools And Its Dependencies
To uninstall httpry-tools and its dependencies that are no longer needed by Ubuntu 18.04, we can use the command below:
sudo apt-get -y autoremove httpry-tools
Remove httpry-tools Configurations and Data
To remove httpry-tools configuration and data from Ubuntu 18.04 we can use the following command:
sudo apt-get -y purge httpry-tools
Remove httpry-tools configuration, data, and all of its dependencies
We can use the following command to remove httpry-tools configurations, data and all of its dependencies, we can use the following command:
sudo apt-get -y autoremove --purge httpry-tools
