How To Install httpry on Kali Linux
Introduction
In this tutorial we learn how to install httpry on Kali Linux.
What is httpry
httpry is:
httpry is a tool designed for displaying and logging HTTP traffic. It is not intended to perform analysis itself, but instead to capture, parse and/or log the traffic for later analysis. It can be run in real-time displaying the live traffic on the wire, or as a daemon process that logs to an output file. It is written to be as lightweight and flexible as possible, so that it can be easily adaptable to different applications. It does not display the raw HTTP data transferred, but instead focuses on parsing and displaying the request/response line along with associated header fields.
This package contains the httpry executable. Package httpry-daemon contains required init script for running httpry as a daemon. Scripts for parsing log files are provided by httpry-tools.
There are three methods to install httpry on Kali Linux. We can use apt-get, apt and aptitude. In the following sections we will describe each method. You can choose one of them.
Install httpry Using apt-get
Update apt database with apt-get using the following command.
sudo apt-get updateAfter updating apt database, We can install httpry using apt-get by running the following command:
sudo apt-get -y install httpryInstall httpry Using apt
Update apt database with apt using the following command.
sudo apt updateAfter updating apt database, We can install httpry using apt by running the following command:
sudo apt -y install httpryInstall httpry Using aptitude
If you want to follow this method, you might need to install aptitude on Kali Linux first since aptitude is usually not installed by default on Kali Linux. Update apt database with aptitude using the following command.
sudo aptitude updateAfter updating apt database, We can install httpry using aptitude by running the following command:
sudo aptitude -y install httpryHow To Uninstall httpry on Kali Linux
To uninstall only the httpry package we can use the following command:
sudo apt-get remove httpryUninstall httpry And Its Dependencies
To uninstall httpry and its dependencies that are no longer needed by Kali Linux, we can use the command below:
sudo apt-get -y autoremove httpryRemove httpry Configurations and Data
To remove httpry configuration and data from Kali Linux we can use the following command:
sudo apt-get -y purge httpryRemove httpry configuration, data, and all of its dependencies
We can use the following command to remove httpry configurations, data and all of its dependencies, we can use the following command:
sudo apt-get -y autoremove --purge httpryDependencies
