How To Install httprint on Kali Linux

In this tutorial we learn how to install httprint on Kali Linux.

What is httprint

httprint is:

httprint is a web server fingerprinting tool. It relies on web server characteristics to accurately identify web servers, despite the fact that they may have been obfuscated by changing the server banner strings, or by plug-ins such as mod_security or servermask. httprint can also be used to detect web enabled devices which do not have a server banner string, such as wireless access points, routers, switches, cable modems, etc. httprint uses text signature strings and it is very easy to add signatures to the signature database.

There are three methods to install httprint on Kali Linux. We can use apt-get, apt and aptitude. In the following sections we will describe each method. You can choose one of them.

Install httprint Using apt-get

Update apt database with apt-get using the following command.

sudo apt-get update

After updating apt database, We can install httprint using apt-get by running the following command:

sudo apt-get -y install httprint

Install httprint Using apt

Update apt database with apt using the following command.

sudo apt update

After updating apt database, We can install httprint using apt by running the following command:

sudo apt -y install httprint

Install httprint Using aptitude

If you want to follow this method, you might need to install aptitude on Kali Linux first since aptitude is usually not installed by default on Kali Linux. Update apt database with aptitude using the following command.

sudo aptitude update

After updating apt database, We can install httprint using aptitude by running the following command:

sudo aptitude -y install httprint

How To Uninstall httprint on Kali Linux

To uninstall only the httprint package we can use the following command:

sudo apt-get remove httprint

Uninstall httprint And Its Dependencies

To uninstall httprint and its dependencies that are no longer needed by Kali Linux, we can use the command below:

sudo apt-get -y autoremove httprint

Remove httprint Configurations and Data

To remove httprint configuration and data from Kali Linux we can use the following command:

sudo apt-get -y purge httprint

Remove httprint configuration, data, and all of its dependencies

We can use the following command to remove httprint configurations, data and all of its dependencies, we can use the following command:
