How To Install httperf on Kali Linux

What is httperf
httperf is:
httperf is a tool to measure web server performance. It speaks the HTTP protocol both in its HTTP/1.0 and HTTP/1.1 flavors and offers a variety of workload generators. While running, it keeps track of a number of performance metrics that are summarized in the form of statistics that are printed at the end of a test run.
This package provide httperf and idleconn commands.
There are three methods to install httperf
on Kali Linux. We can use apt-get
, apt
and aptitude
. In the following sections we will describe each method. You can choose one of them.
Install httperf Using apt-get
Update apt database with apt-get
using the following command.
sudo apt-get update
After updating apt database, We can install httperf
using apt-get
by running the following command:
sudo apt-get -y install httperf

Update apt database with apt

sudo apt update
After updating apt database, We can install httperf
using apt
by running the following command:
sudo apt -y install httperf
Install httperf Using aptitude
If you want to follow this method, you might need to install aptitude on Kali Linux first since aptitude is usually not installed by default on Kali Linux. Update apt database with aptitude
using the following command.
sudo aptitude update
After updating apt database, We can install httperf
using aptitude

sudo aptitude -y install httperf
How To Uninstall httperf on Kali Linux
To uninstall only the httperf
package we can use the following command:
sudo apt-get remove httperf
Uninstall httperf And Its Dependencies
To uninstall httperf
and its dependencies that are no longer needed by Kali Linux, we can use the command below:
sudo apt-get -y autoremove httperf
Remove httperf Configurations and Data
To remove httperf
configuration and data from Kali Linux we can use the following command:
sudo apt-get -y purge httperf
