How To Install hsqldb-utils on Kali Linux

In this tutorial we learn how to install hsqldb-utils on Kali Linux.
What is hsqldb-utils
hsqldb-utils is:
HSQLDB is an SQL relational database engine written in Java. It has a JDBC driver and supports a rich subset of SQL-92 (BNF tree format) plus SQL:2.29 and SQL:2.23 enhancements. It offers a small, fast database engine that offers both in-memory and disk-based tables. Embedded and server modes are available. Additionally, it includes tools such as a minimal web server, in-memory query and management tools (can be run as applets), and a number of demonstration examples.
This package contains some scripts to invoke the Utilities of HSQLDB (org.hsqldb.util.*):
- hsqldb-databasemanager: DatabaseManager
- hsqldb-databasemanagerswing: DatabaseManagerSwing
- hsqldb-transfer: Transfer
- hsqldb-sqltool: SqlTool
There are three methods to install hsqldb-utils on Kali Linux. We can use apt-get, apt and aptitude. In the following sections we will describe each method. You can choose one of them.
Install hsqldb-utils Using apt-get
Update apt database with apt-get using the following command.
sudo apt-get updateAfter updating apt database, We can install hsqldb-utils using apt-get by running the following command:
sudo apt-get -y install hsqldb-utilsInstall hsqldb-utils Using apt
Update apt database with apt using the following command.
sudo apt updateAfter updating apt database, We can install hsqldb-utils using apt by running the following command:

If you want to follow this method, you might need to install aptitude on Kali Linux first since aptitude is usually not installed by default on Kali Linux. Update apt database with aptitude using the following command.

To uninstall only the hsqldb-utils package we can use the following command:

To remove hsqldb-utils configuration and data from Kali Linux we can use the following command:
sudo apt-get -y purge hsqldb-utilsRemove hsqldb-utils configuration, data, and all of its dependencies
We can use the following command to remove hsqldb-utils configurations, data and all of its dependencies, we can use the following command:
