How To Install hopm on Kali Linux
Introduction
In this tutorial we learn how to install hopm on Kali Linux.
What is hopm
hopm is:
HOPM (Hybrid Open Proxy Monitor) is an open-proxy monitoring bot designed to monitor an individual server (all servers on the network have to run their own bot if the IRCD does not support
farconnectuser mode) with a local operator {} block and monitor connections. When a client connects to a server, HOPM will scan the connection for insecure proxies. Insecure proxies are determined by attempting to connect the proxy back to another host (usually the IRC server in question).
There are three methods to install hopm on Kali Linux. We can use apt-get, apt and aptitude. In the following sections we will describe each method. You can choose one of them.
Install hopm Using apt-get
Update apt database with apt-get using the following command.
sudo apt-get updateAfter updating apt database, We can install hopm using apt-get by running the following command:
sudo apt-get -y install hopmInstall hopm Using apt
Update apt database with apt using the following command.
sudo apt updateAfter updating apt database, We can install hopm using apt by running the following command:
sudo apt -y install hopmInstall hopm Using aptitude
If you want to follow this method, you might need to install aptitude on Kali Linux first since aptitude is usually not installed by default on Kali Linux. Update apt database with aptitude using the following command.
sudo aptitude updateAfter updating apt database, We can install hopm using aptitude by running the following command:
sudo aptitude -y install hopmHow To Uninstall hopm on Kali Linux
To uninstall only the hopm package we can use the following command:
sudo apt-get remove hopmUninstall hopm And Its Dependencies
To uninstall hopm and its dependencies that are no longer needed by Kali Linux, we can use the command below:
sudo apt-get -y autoremove hopmRemove hopm Configurations and Data
To remove hopm configuration and data from Kali Linux we can use the following command:
sudo apt-get -y purge hopmRemove hopm configuration, data, and all of its dependencies
We can use the following command to remove hopm configurations, data and all of its dependencies, we can use the following command:
sudo apt-get -y autoremove --purge hopmDependencies
