How To Install hibiscus on Debian 10

In this tutorial we learn how to install hibiscus
on Debian 10.
What is hibiscus
hibiscus is:
A Java based, platform independent (running on Linux, Windows, OS X, OpenBSD, OpenSolaris) homebanking application, that uses the German FinTS/HBCI standard. All data (accounts, transactions, addresses, ..) are stored encrypted into an embedded database (H2) by default or on a MySQL server (if configured). . Hibiscus runs as a plugin within the Jameica framework as either a typical desktop application or headless in server mode.
There are three methods to install hibiscus
on Debian 10. We can use apt-get
, apt
and aptitude
. In the following sections we will describe each method. You can choose one of them.
Install hibiscus Using apt-get
Update apt database with apt-get
using the following command.
sudo apt-get update
After updating apt database, We can install hibiscus
using apt-get
by running the following command:
sudo apt-get -y install hibiscus
Install hibiscus Using apt
Update apt database with apt
using the following command.
sudo apt update
After updating apt database, We can install hibiscus
using apt
by running the following command:
sudo apt -y install hibiscus
Install hibiscus Using aptitude
If you want to follow this method, you might need to install aptitude first since aptitude is usually not installed by default on Debian. Update apt database with aptitude
using the following command.
sudo aptitude update
After updating apt database, We can install hibiscus
using aptitude
by running the following command:
sudo aptitude -y install hibiscus
How To Uninstall hibiscus on Debian 10
To uninstall only the hibiscus
package we can use the following command:
sudo apt-get remove hibiscus
Uninstall hibiscus And Its Dependencies
To uninstall hibiscus
and its dependencies that are no longer needed by Debian 10, we can use the command below:
sudo apt-get -y autoremove hibiscus
Remove hibiscus Configurations and Data
To remove hibiscus
configuration and data from Debian 10 we can use the following command:
sudo apt-get -y purge hibiscus
Remove hibiscus configuration, data, and all of its dependencies
We can use the following command to remove hibiscus
configurations, data and all of its dependencies, we can use the following command:
sudo apt-get -y autoremove --purge hibiscus
