How To Install hashid on Kali Linux
Introduction
In this tutorial we learn how to install hashid on Kali Linux.
What is hashid
hashid is:
Identify the different types of hashes used to encrypt data and especially passwords.
hashID is a tool written in Python 3.x which supports the identification of over 175 unique hash types using regular expressions. It is able to identify a single hash or parse a file and identify the hashes within it. There is also a nodejs version of hashID available which is easily set up to provide online hash identification.
There are three methods to install hashid on Kali Linux. We can use apt-get, apt and aptitude. In the following sections we will describe each method. You can choose one of them.
Install hashid Using apt-get
Update apt database with apt-get using the following command.
sudo apt-get updateAfter updating apt database, We can install hashid using apt-get by running the following command:
sudo apt-get -y install hashidInstall hashid Using apt
Update apt database with apt using the following command.
sudo apt updateAfter updating apt database, We can install hashid using apt by running the following command:
sudo apt -y install hashidInstall hashid Using aptitude
If you want to follow this method, you might need to install aptitude on Kali Linux first since aptitude is usually not installed by default on Kali Linux. Update apt database with aptitude using the following command.
sudo aptitude updateAfter updating apt database, We can install hashid using aptitude by running the following command:
sudo aptitude -y install hashidHow To Uninstall hashid on Kali Linux
To uninstall only the hashid package we can use the following command:
sudo apt-get remove hashidUninstall hashid And Its Dependencies
To uninstall hashid and its dependencies that are no longer needed by Kali Linux, we can use the command below:
sudo apt-get -y autoremove hashidRemove hashid Configurations and Data
To remove hashid configuration and data from Kali Linux we can use the following command:
sudo apt-get -y purge hashidRemove hashid configuration, data, and all of its dependencies
We can use the following command to remove hashid configurations, data and all of its dependencies, we can use the following command:
sudo apt-get -y autoremove --purge hashidDependencies
