on CentOS 7.
What is hashcat
Hashcat is the world’s fastest and most advanced password recovery utility, supporting five unique modes of attack for over 200 highly-optimized hashing algorithms. hashcat currently supports CPUs, GPUs, and other hardware accelerators on Linux, Windows, and Mac OS, and has facilities to help enable distributed password cracking.
We can use yum
or dnf
to install hashcat
on CentOS 7. In this tutorial we discuss both methods but you only need to choose one of method to install hashcat.
Install hashcat on CentOS 7 Using yum
Update yum database with yum
using the following command.
After updating yum database, We can install hashcat
using yum
by running the following command:
Install hashcat on CentOS 7 Using dnf
If you don’t have dnf installed you can install DNF on CentOS 7 first.
